The patauá Uses

Traditionally the Indians have been gathering the fruit and mature it in warm water to prepare drinks and also to extract oil : its drupe, contains eight to ten percent Oil. It is also the edible Meolo cool. Also in the palm to create comestívels beetle larvae.

The oil is used in traditional medicine to relieve her cough and bronchitis and as a hair tonic.

The rachis has been used to make arrows and leaves to make baskets to build provisional houses.

In the future, this palm could be processed for her oil production, both for its quality and because it adapts to poor soils and fruit production is very abundant.
